Sondheim fans who liked Theater Latte Da last season, when it produced an innovative take on his "Into the Woods," will love it this season, when Latte Da does two (well, one and a half) Sondheim shows: Sally Wingert and Tyler Michaels, featured in Latte Da's "Cabaret," will reunite with that show's director, Peter Rothstein, to kick things off in September with Sondheim's "Sweeney Todd." Sondheim also wrote the lyrics (Jule Styne wrote the music) for "Gypsy," which Latte Da will co-produce with Hennepin Theatre Trust, with a cast that features mother-and-daughter performers Michelle Barber and Cat Brindisi, playing mother-and-daughter showbiz dynamos.

In addition, Latte Da will present: its holiday show, "All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914"; folkie Jonatha Brooke's new play-with-music, "Lullaby"; Bradley Greenwald and Robert Elhai's musical "C.," with Greenwald as Cyrano de Bergerac; and "NEXT: New Musicals in the Making," the annual development festival of new work that spawned both "Lullaby" and "C."
